Il Divo
9:32 p.m. @ Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009

(+random lobang at the end of entry! seems inappropriate to Il Divo, to write this in the title haha)

In a rare non-HK nor House entertainment-news post, i would like to plug a new favourite song which i learnt at Il Divo's concert yesterday.

Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore

YES IT'S A FRENCH SONG.

Beyond my TVB ravings, i'm actually sophisticated too. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

ANYWAY OMG THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE - SHANTI JUST STARTED CONVO ON MSN TRYING TO SEND ME A FILE OF "CARLOS' CUTIES" HAKJSHDFSDKJHF HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA WTH!!!!

HAHAHA omg. But admittedly his charm was damn whoa - actually generally i think the stage charisma of Il Divo is SUPER GOOD. Anyway i noticed that Carlos (he's Spanish, hola!) has this damn amusing-to-observe self-conscious (in the sense that HE KNOWS THE AUDIENCE IS LAPPING IT UP HAHAHAHA) EYEBROW TWITCH WHEN HE SINGS!! Anyway he greeted the audience with a "GOOD EVENING, LADIES..." AND STOPPED THERE HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Wah lau. Omg man while i cant stand his ego, i cant deny that he is very good looking - in the very sculpted, chiselled good looks way. Wah man. But skarli he's Botox-ed.

And all 4 of them has this amazing ability to like smile damn charmingly WHILE singing, HAHAHA but even more so for Carlos and David (the American).

Actually i thought:
1 of them really looks like Sylvester Stallone - this one should be obvious haha!
1 looks like A BACKSTREET BOY HAHAAHHAA aah sorry stereotype oops.
1 looks like SNAPE HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Not Alan-Rickman-Snape, but the younger Snivellus Snape.
And maybe first influenced by the Snape-HarryPotter train of thought, the last one looked like Viktor Krum HAHA! But actually in the vid above Krum looks much better! I think it's because of his hair - he was sporting a weirdly boring crew cut?

Anyway for the job yesterday - i was assigned West GCO, and there were relocation plans again because it wasnt a full house, and whoa it was the busiest event i've done in a while. And it didnt help that the block that i was doing was near the VIP lounge, and when the concert was starting at the pinnacle of the peak period, all the VIPs swarmed out of their lounge and congested the aisle. There was only one me, but ten thousand VIPs and another ten thousand general public - half requesting help to find their seats, and half waiting for me to arrange new seats. Haii. It was over in about half an hour, but in retrospect i still feel crappy for things that i could have done better.

But a cool fun fact: apparently "Besides their musical experience and prowess, the members of Il Divo are also recognized for their impeccable taste in fashion, dressing almost exclusively in Armani suits, along with their handsome looks." (quoted from Wikipedia [which is a scholastically unquotable source] here)
So yesterday's VIPs were all from Armani.

An interesting encounter -
Lady with strong Japanese accent: So, how are the ticket sales??
[by the fact that we're doing relocation and moving people from balcony down to terrace, = ticket sales are not fantastic... :S]
Me: Er it's almost a full house!
Lady: *wistfully* Almost...
Lady: You know, in Japan, they have many shows, and all shows are full! But here only 1 and not full... :(
Me: Ah... I hope you enjoy the show! *ZAO*

But sigh unfortunately from the observable crowd demographics yesterday, half are Caucasians (there was this row of Caucasian ladies who were totally DANCING and SALSA-ing to the music?! HAHAHAHAHA damn high. Good for them!), a quarter Japanese and maybe the last quarter locals. Personally i also didnt know of Il Divo (and mispronounced as "al-dai-vo" when i called in and got curtly corrected by Ms Judy HAHA maybe she's a fan :O), and it was only random news from Sirui and subsequent googling that i found out that they were formed by Simon Cowell just 5 years ago.

Anyway, not-too-bad experience yesterday, and i think the Il Divo concert was definitely worth going for, the live performance was FANTASTIC. And of course, such genre (they're technically classified as "operatic pop") must be heard live. :)

But haii i've been going to SIS too frequently for my travel-convenience-liking these few days - last Fri's Singapore Challenge Series basketball match (which btw i spent half the time watching Michael Wong play HAHAHAHA), then Il Divo yesterday night and tomorrow another evening with Michael Wong again. :(

AND TOMORROW IS WEDNESDAY, RECESS WEEK IS ENDING!!! :O:O:O

Anyway btw i got a few volunteering lobangs! If you're keen. :)

"Today is unique!
It has never occurred before and it will never be repeated. At midnight it will end, quietly, suddenly, totally. Forever.
But the hours between now and then are opportunities with eternal possibilities."
