happy teachers' day
12:30 a.m. @ Monday, Aug. 31, 2009

I actually feel a pang of nostalgia for JC days (random things like, class bench, crossing the central plaza, fishtank, bio lectures in audi, chionging wall seats in LT3... haii), after seeing the juniors' blogs about last day of official school, before they start self-study for prelims and then the impending As... GOOD LUCK!!! If you see this and it's relevant to you, haha.

A common question i keep receiving nowadays (and subsequently... i think i may have reciprocated to my other friends in the other unis) is, "How's uni? :D" Zzz. Honestly, i dont know. I'm still in this state of limbo, i'm not fully "into" NUS, i am not sure if i'm subconsciously rejecting it or something, but i'm also aware of my predictable pattern of initially-hating-then-afterwards-loving-it-like-mad. Still, i'm rather apprehensive of getting myself into too many "affiliations" and the consequential commitments. Zzz.

But ok despite this rather negative sounding picture, actually uni life has been quite good to me. Except the depressingly long breaks. I am still adapting my life around this timetable. By then which i'm done, this sem is over and a new timetable terror comes. Anyway lectures are interesting, mainly because of the novelty of the subjects actually; tutorials have been surprisingly good :O bad tutor was balanced by an extremely enthusiastic (verily surprising, too. Haha but afterwards as we were chatting while leaving, we realized we were all thinking the same thing during the first 45min: omg the tutor sucks) and got-substance class, so discussion was quite productive and i was very ashamed/motivated to keep up with readings.

Haii i think the thing i miss about JC is the regular consistent schedule (to juniors reading this and disagreeing violently: you will come to realize this later, and then regret not appreciating it in your time... Haha but the process of disbelieving that is also inevitable.) and the familiar bunch of people that you know will be always around and easily found. :(

Sometimes it's nice to just relish the complacent comfort of familiarity and dependable routine.

Anyway i just realized that we dont get Teachers' Day holiday in uni. Damn it.

I'm not going back to Rulang/NY/HC tomorrow, though will be meeting Audrey out for lunch and then going to crash Jolenta's Landscapes of Singapore lecture, then Philo tutorial then Psych lecture. Which i think will have a lot of crashers too, hurhur. TOMORROW'S THE LAST LECTURE THAT DR WHY IS LECTURING!!! :( Why!!

Anyway, Time passes, Things change and People go.

In my Rulang, it was
Ms Ong - Now in Henry Park, if i'm not wrong... Haven been keeping in touch with her now, though she was the teacher who had the greatest impact/influence on me, really.
Mrs Chan - She was my P6 teacher. Which was supposedly the year in our young primary school days, but i feel quite disaffected, haha sorry.
Chen Laoshi - Quite a keystone figure in my life, haha but then again, seriously in primary school that's about all the teachers i've had/can remember substantially.
Unfortunately i was still hippocampi-&-amygdala-ly underdeveloped at 7, and remember my entire P1 year in Peitong in black&white blurry images with no audio.

In my Nanyang, it was
Mrs Claudine Tan - I think she's still around, and i was damn touched that she could remember my name.
Mr Ron Tok - HAHAHAHAHA ok not much impact, but definitely lots of laughs and inside-jokes.
Mr Kuo - I have no idea where he is now. But still, he is The Kuo!! I'm too tired/lazy to link all the posts that i've ever written about/of him, but i think there'll be quite substantially a lot HAHAHA.
Mr Lim - OK DEFINITELY HEAVYWEIGHT KEYSTONE CHARACTER IN MY LIFE. Track and field, throws... And everything else that came after that. :) Still around in NY, and i think he'll still be for quite some time.
Ms Ng Soo Ling - In SCGS? Not sure. My deepest impression of her was how i got punished (together with half the class) to stand at the back of class coz we forgot to bring/do some work. DAMN FIERCE~
Ms TAN GEK HOON - SHE'S BACK IN NY AGAIN. HAHAHA NOW MDM TAN. Well she definitely didnt remember me, wehn Audrey and i went to re-acknowledge her sometime last year. She gave me a very intimidating start to secondary school Math. :S
Mrs Lynette W - ok she's mentioned here because since dropping physics at Sec3, i have completely forgotten about her for the next 4 years, until now. I'm taking a Physics in Life Sciences module, and upon reflection + lower-sec-physics-experience-sharing with fellow school mates, realized she and Ms Tan PY (or Mrs. Or whatever.) had quadruple-handedly destroyed our batch's physics foundation.

Upper Sec-
Ms Sandra Teng - Aha. Haha somehow i feel like i have some understanding with her. OK IT'S SOUNDS WEIRD, BUT.
Ms Yeo Pih Tai - Pihtai-goras theorem states that there's such thing called Tonight. Haha ok i think i should share my A & E Math both A1 glory with her. I dont know how i did it. But Ms Yeo was with me. HAHA!
Ms Lee (Shan2) - Now in NJ. Haha my unlikely friend! And i think it will be unbelievable to some of her other students, but she really sparked the interest for Bio in me. Zomg i still remember her stamps/chops system and labelling all her ppts (PDF SOMEMORE) systematically with chapter and her initials, and all her POP quizzes and small rewards. HAHAHAA wah those were the days, man...
Ms Rashidah - Deepest impression has got to be being thrown out of class (with the rest of 3/4 of the class) for not doing our work. HAHAHHAHA! 2nd deepest, will be all her ghost stories and her Ms Rashidah way of telling them! HAHAHA "The pontianak, flapping its wings, LIKE THIS *FLAPS ARMS*"
Juanjie - Ah still around NY i think. One word: Motherly. To the max. Though, i must admit i never want to go through that period of intense O-levels-Chinese prep again. Omggg do you still remember the days in the library conf rooms~

In my HC,... which actually is still pretty much the same now.
Mr Tan Wan Sin - My tireless sinseh for his steady 风雨不改 Math clinic, who made me realize for sure, that Math is not for me.
Mr Alex Ho - Maybe for more wrong reasons than right, i have to say i will remember him. HAHAHA. SIGH B for GP. :(
Mdm KTay - Not the most exciting Bio tutor around, but still. Last Friday when i was sitting with Jo in Phy in LS lecture, i suddenly had an overwhelming flashback of Friday(or was it Tuesdays??) mornings, waiting for Bio lab on the 4th level of Science block. Aah nostalgia...
Mrs HoLY - HAII a bit 没脸见她. C for Chem. My deepest impression would have to be the 2nd half of J2 year, with the intensive Chem remedials and mindmaps and TYS-intensive revision. But anyway fun fact: I RECENTLY FOUND HER ON FB. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA i've added her but still no response...
Mr Kelvin Tan - Er. Sorry but i dont have much for him... Quite an impersonal Econs tutor for me, but somehow, the exact opposite to how i feel like i have an understanding with Ms Sandra Teng, i cannot click with him.
-----
MR SIM - HAHAHAHAHAHAHA just, for fun. :D

Alright man, happy teachers' day! The job which makes all other jobs possible...

It has never occurred before and it will never be repeated. At midnight it will end, quietly, suddenly, totally. Forever.
But the hours between now and then are opportunities with eternal possibilities."
