AOGS 09
4:27 p.m. @ Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009

On Friday afternoon, after the very entertaining and interesting Philo lecture, i went down to Suntec to visit MMI at AOGS.

Ok wait digress a bit: The Philo lecture was really damn funny HAHAHA! And turned out the lecturer wrote AND illustrated the textbook!! :O Or maybe he just published his notes into a book, but still it's cool. Though it's going to cost me $22.50. Contrary to his Political Science counterpart (the Zac Efron-lookalike lecturer), who released us an hour early from the 2h lecture, the Philo lecturer (i think he kinda looks like Matthew Perry. But then i was sitting quite far back) took up all 2h and still didnt finish.

At the start of the lecture, he was complaining about how he has to hold up the mike and it will make his shoulder ache and etc. Then halfway through the lecture, he suddenly went, "I wish i had one of those Miley Cyrus thing! That would be so cool. :D Awesome~ And my kids would be like, WHOA...." (he was referring to those hands-free mike that's worn around the head, ie so Miley Cyrus can sing and dance) HAHAHAHAHAHA?!?! Omg and please read that in your head in the perfect American accent.

Ok so Philo lecture ended at 4pm, i took 95 out to Holland V to change to 106 and headed down to Suntec. Actually it's rather convenient, it took me about 40mins to get to Suntec rather comfortably.

When i saw and recognized the AOGS posters it was a funny strange feeling. Then i walked towards the registration counter, and immediately saw Patrick and Dalong. Haha their expression when they saw me was rather nicely pleasantly surprised. How long has it been actually? Ok i just calculated and it's slightly less than 2 months.

And yet so much has changed. :S

Zzz retrospecting, it's uncannily similar to the situation with Alex last time :S:S:S The complete change of attitude, and from our pov, a change from good to bad.

Anyway actually i didnt physically do much at AOGS, but it seemed like KX and SC had lots of grievances and would be extremely carthartic to talk to us, so haha actually i think maybe my presence will make them look quite bad coz we kept talking.

Went down on Saturday for half a day in the afternoon too, and yesterday was Dalong's last day.

Actually on Friday, for about the first hour that i was there, i was sorely regretting not taking up Dalong's offer to work during AOGS, and disregarding his "advice" that first week of lectures are essentially unimportant and pon-able. That's the problem when a person talks too much crap and rubbish normally, HAHA my reflex is to distrust everything he says. From IEEM, my impression of working on-site for events is - extremely fun, stressful at times, but eventually good and memorable and satisfying. Which was what i have been telling KX and SC since they entered and got more involved with AOGS.

But after talking to them for the past 2 days, sigh the whole feeling and atmosphere at AOGS is significantly different. Maybe i have just been naive (AGAIN!) and silly.

OK ANYWAY. I think i should stop here it's too depressing.

Ah well here's to the new era in MMI, in the short but tumultuous history, good luck to MMI v5.1! (Ok i realize actually i really did nothing for AOGS onsite HAHA so this entry is kinda more MMI than AOGS)

It has never occurred before and it will never be repeated. At midnight it will end, quietly, suddenly, totally. Forever.
But the hours between now and then are opportunities with eternal possibilities."
