NDP NE SHOW 1
12:11 a.m. @ Sunday, Jul. 12, 2009

Ok just finished eating my soggy Apple Pie and shall do a quick update while waiting for my hair to dry.

Today marks the first NDP parade that i'm watching live, since the last one that i went in P5. AND IT'S THE BEST NDP, MAN.

HAHAHAHAHA i think this picture pretty much summarises my feelings too.

Photo credits to NDPeeps, and you can check out their Flickr album here.

The afternoon-evening started rather slowly and even with a bit of sian-ness, but the downpour made everything and everyone damn high. HAHAHA! And i realized i haven been mixing with a lot of sub-12-year-olds recently, and THEY SAY THE FUNNIEST THINGS HAHAHAHAHAA!

And the best part was, the verily unbelievably coincidental video of PM Lee, played right before the weather unleashed - he spoke about this unforgettable parade in 1968 (woohoo i was paying attention ok) where in the middle of the parade, there was a sudden heavy downpour, and everyone was watching if the parade would just stop and run for cover, but they stayed and continued in the rain, and the audience also stayed, and the atmosphere was even better than ever. WHICH WAS ALMOST EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TODAY.

So coincidentally, i DIDNT have a poncho coz they were given out last week and i wasnt there! Actually it was really a SUDDEN DOWNPOUR, and within 5minutes i was considerably wet, and ran into shelter in an attempt to find the Logistics people to get a poncho, but it turned out that they took all the ponchos and went to the Seating Gallery to distribute to those of us who dont have. Ah... So hurriedly put on poncho, put on visor (which, btw, is completely useless in sun but surprisingly provides quite good shelter for specs when in rain) and somewhat watched the rest of the show, while discussing anxiously about dispersal plans.

Then the next best part was, seeing the entirely drenched Deputy Prime Minister Mr Teo Chee Hean waving to the parade performers and waving to the audience, before taking his leave. HAHAHA seriously, in that ministerial downpour, that was rather commendable!!

Ok i shall write more extensively again, sleeping soon, good night.

"Today is unique!
It has never occurred before and it will never be repeated. At midnight it will end, quietly, suddenly, totally. Forever.
But the hours between now and then are opportunities with eternal possibilities."
