Aah just finished Rosy Business... Omg what an intense show!! ;_;

MASSIVE WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS NOW. OMGGGGGGGGGGG.

I watched Ep23-24 in the afternoon, and JUST watched Ep25. Once again it was the Final Episode Dilemma - i was dying to know what happens, but i cant bear for it to finish. But anyway throughout Ep25, omg they just wont stop piling on all the emo + Emo + EMO scenes.

I really felt like crying. Whoa... ;_; Really damn good. My whole face was so stiff and cramping with the intense sourish feeling in the nose, and the whole melancholic AWWWWWWW feeling beating around in my head.

I think Ep23-24 are my 2 favourite episodes out of the whole show, and surprisingly at this point of the show, where it's getting quite heavy and all the tear-jerker scenes are coming one after another, there were actually a few parts which made me laugh out loud. Not in the lame laughing-at-the-exaggerated-crying-etc sense, but in the quite realistic (at least, realistic in my opinion) when-things-are-at-their-worst-and-there's-nothing-to-lose,-and-the-crazy-screwed-situation-is-actually-laughable sense.

Dont you get that sometimes??

Haii i think this entry is gonna get dao-ed by most. :( Actually i think only Anna will be able to respond to this entry + whoever else who watches Rosy Business 巾幗梟雄 and came here after googling or something, so hello there fellow TVB fan!]

Actually yesterday over dinner my aunt (the one who used to rent TVB dramas and share with us... Now we just buy entire series from Holiday Inn Ah Long HAHAHA) was asking me what Rosy Biz about, and i realize it's not easy to summarize. Anyway once again i am stumped by the befuddling TVB English title, which doesnt really help in understanding the cheem Chinese title.

I've actually checked the dictionary-
巾幗 jin1 guo2： 古代妇女戴的头巾，巾幗指妇女：~英雄
枭雄 xiao1 xiong2： 强横而有野心的人物
And according to wiki, the Cantonese title is pronounced Gan1 Gwok3 Hiu1 Hung4. OOH actually ok i realized on wiki it says
"...finalized the official title to "Veiled Femininity, Courage Masculinity" (巾幗梟雄) and its official English title to Rosy Business.
"Veiled Femininity" (巾幗) represented Tang's role of the fourth wife, while "Courage Masculinity" (梟雄) represented Lai's role 'Chai Kau'.[5] "

Anyway, this drama is really so intricate and complex and multi-dimensional that i really dunno how to start. Maybe this is why initially Anna just kept saying Cai Gau rocks Rosy Biz rocks and not what the whole show is about.

It centers around 蒋家 (ok i know this totally plays to the TVB stereotypical Family Fortune Fighting kind of show, but really it's much more than that) which is headed by 蒋乔 (played by 岳华, who was Hor Fung in Gem of Life! HAHAHA and yes like Anna said, i first recognized his voice before his face) and he has 4 wives (sigh once again, FFF Amongst Multiple Wives) and 3 sons and A Lot Of Money (dunno how much, as compared to the specific 6million from Tangxin) They are in the Rice business, and... from here i really dunno how to continue.

沙家幫 (WAH THIS ONE DAMN 精彩! To me Cai Gau-沙家幫 was one of the best representations of his 活得痛快-ing)

师帅 of the 太平天国. (HAHAHA XIANG HAI~ From Zhen Qing! Actually his part in Rosy Biz is more of a cameo than a real part, he lasted about 2-3 episodes??)

And of course, the dynamic, enigmatic, but subtle, platonic-beyond-platonic love (this sounds horribly unromantic, i prefer to think of their relationship as a mysterious undefined yet unbreakable bond) between Cai Gau and 499...

And 499 is a very delicious witty esoteric nugget of random fun fact HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA omg i'm so proud to be part of the club HAHAHAHA!

Anyway ok cut to the funny part in Ep23 that i want to share. It was after Cai Gau and 499 got conferred official titles from the 太平天国 intruders who took over the city, and this is tricky because while the intruders are in control over the city now, when they get defeated, whoever who had ties with them would be deemed as traitors to the incoming army, and would be beheaded/killed/etc. So this "plot development" was a rather valiant display of altruism (on the part of Cai Gau&499, for the good of the rest of the citizens), and also had quite a big part to play in the development of the relationship between Cai Gau & 499.

So, ok i cant find a suitable videoclip so these screencaps would have to do.

When the 2 of them first donned the official uniforms of the 太平天国. HAHAHAHAHAHA I DUNNO WHY BUT IT LOOKED SUPER FUNNY. It was so different from what they've been wearing for the past 22 episodes, and after their first changed and met each other, Cai Gau entered sniggering and asked (loosely transcripted), "四奶奶，你为什么搞成这样!" HAHAHA and they bantered a bit and he pseudo-seriously asked her if she has prepared all her clothes, money, etc in case they need to run away when the 太平天国 intruders get defeated.

This was when they really had to run away, and Cai Gau was trying to get his 沙家幫 brothers to split the money and flee while they can, and amidst the 有难同当 同生共死 shoutings, Cai Gau said this line to convince his brothers to split a greater share of the money, and that he doenst need so much -
"我当官当然是当贪官!"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA OK THE HUMOUR/HILARITY IS PROBABLY GONNA BE LOST, BUT ANYWAY I FOUND IT SUPER FUNNY!!

Then in Ep24, the Church Scene where Cai Gau & 499 were reminiscing and then they started impersonating each other!? HAHAHAHA omg i was laughing out loud at that part. But the handling of that scene was really superb - it transited into a very serious and catalytic turn of events, ok sorta.

One of the things that you realize after watching the whole show is that there was no explicit expression of feelings from either Cai Gau or 四奶奶, SO IT WAS ALL 眼神-ACTING WHICH WAS OMG SUPERBSUPERBSUPERB!!! Omg wow i totally love the over-a-distance (they are always NOT physically close to each other) looking-meaningfully-at-each-other, one-look-to-express-a-thousand-thoughts-and-emotions, DAMN GOOD.

They were there for each other throughout everything, and the ending was really... The words used were 凄美 and i think that summed it up quite well. Aah omg i feel the heartwrenching sadness again. ;_;

GREAT SHOW!!!!

And, ok rather anti-climax-ly, i want to insert that i think Ron Ng has done quite well in this show! clapclapclap. Amazing that he has not a single moment where i feel like slapping him HAHAHAHAHAA.
