Wanling's 19th birthday, Gmax & GX5, and H1N1...
12:28 a.m. @ Wednesday, Jun. 24, 2009

Ok right now i'm feeling extremely torn between the good-and-happy-ness of having met up with Wanling and made a new friend Angela, for a "surprise" birthday dinner for Wanling, and feeling extremely worried and guilty wondering if i'm possibly a H1N1 carrier.

!??!?!??! ARGHHHHHH.

But like Wanling said, ok i really hope i wont be so lucky to tio it. Zzz.

Anyway, today i went on the reverse bungy and that new swing thingy at Clarke Quay! And today i just found out that the actual name for the reverse bungy is "Gmax" and the swing thing is callad "GX5" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Omg i was so impressed that Anna knew "Gmax" HAHA WELL DONE.

Anyway, to be honest on a scale of 1-10 of whoa-bility, Gmax is probably about 5, and GX5 about 7? Genting's Solaris Tower (ok once again, i dont know the actual name. It's that tower thing and you sit in a ring around the tower, and from the top, it's a free fall of about what, 60-80m? ON TOP OF GENTING SOMEONE. WOW WEE.) would be about 9.

The G-force actually wasnt very strong/as strong as i expected, and for Gmax, it was just that initial shock when you're catapulted up, and then the jerking in your seat when the capsule thing rolls around in recoil. GX5 was scarier for me (both Angela and Wanling liked GX5 better!) because of that moment when you're up there and you're tilted almost parallel to the ground, so we were only held by the harness. The fear of the harness breaking loose was greater than the fear of the height. Ok lah actually comparing with Genting once again, the height wasnt that scary.

And HAHA do you know you get to "set off" the swing thing?? You as in a patron of the ride. By height/weight, i sat in the middle for both rides. And for GX5, there's a lever on my left, in between the 2 seats. And when we're lifted up and then held in position, we get the control of when to let go.

Right now i cant remember what exactly i was thinking, but i was holding hands with both of them, and so with Angela on my left, i was trying to reach to press the lever down, and according to Wanling it went like
Angela: AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! DONT! ARE YOU COUNTING DOWN?! DONT TELL ME DONT DONDT DONT!
Wanling: Let's count down...
Wanling + Me: 1, 2, 3...
Me: *trying to fully press down the lever* 1, 2, 3... Eh shit cannot!
-please imagine this split second moment-
Me: Eh shit cann-*LEVER GOT PRESSED DOWN*-ot
*WE FALL*
All 3: AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

HAHAHAHA!

So yes there goes $50. That's a student price btw, and it's $30 for 1 ride, and $50 for both... And since we were already down there and intending to do either one, we decided might as well do both. :) Hurhur ok lah it was money pretty reasonably spent, and in the current economic situation haha every expenditure would be appreciated? Ok no pun intended, i got C for Econs. :(

Ok once again HAPPY BIRTHDAY WANLING!!

And i sure hope i didnt give you an extra birthday present of the H1N1 virus.

ARGHHHHHH ok self-quarantine self-quarantine... What does it mean, exactly?? Can i still go out to get lunch tomorrow? Can i go skating around my neighbourhood? Or jogging? Or swimming?

My paranoia started from a sudden onset of runny nose this afternoon, and i was rushing to clear my study room (i've been putting it off till when i get unemployed, sorta) before going out to meet Wanling+Angela, and my nose just kept running. I was pressing a piece of tissue over my nose and mouth while on the mrt, but miraculously it stopped sometime after i got on the mrt, and by the time i reached Clarke Quay i was totally ok. And then still can go and do reverse bungy.

Then i saw an email from SIS after reaching home, informing us about H1N1 precautionary measures and that people who just returned from overseas shouldnt take on any jobs that are within 7 days of their return.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'M DOWN FOR (and quite looking forward to) AYG OPENING CEREMONY FOR THIS SAT AND NEXT MONDAY!! ;_; Wah lau... :S:S:S I've sent any email informing them of my um status and now awaiting reply. Sigh.
