Alright 2nd night at Taiwan.
Whoa we spent almost a whole day getting here- 4h+ flight to HK, 1h+ in transit, then 1.5h+ flight to Taiwan. Left Singapore at 10am, reached Taipei at about 5.45pm, and took a 1h+ bus ride to our hotel.
And when we checked in, i was rather horrified to find that the toilet was like basin+toilet bowl+shower in the same area/room without partition. =whole place will get wet whenever anyone showers. Arghh. But it was surprisingly ok when I got down to doing it, so wow I'm actually more adaptable and tolerant than I thought!
ANYWAY OH YAH HAHAHAHA omg on the flight to HK, I believe I met into this ex-NYGH Chinese teacher Wang Laoshi. I forgot her full name, she's this mild-looking young lady, but she writes in a rather feisty and sarcastic manner on her blog which I used to read haha! Anyway I didnt see her on the Taiwan flight afterwards.
But today when we went to Jiufen (this mountainous area which was a bit like Macau imodo) I think I saw this HC council teacher Ms June (can't rmb her surname)!!!
Wow really damn qiao! Let's see if I'll meet into any of the Herbalifers hurhur. I have yet to be able to contact Carolyn & co after calling her twice and then Anna, who didnt switch on her phone. AAAH according to their itinerary they're supp to be on Alishan right now HAHAHA! Ah well it'll really be damn cool if we get to meet in Taiwan.
Well so far so good, food is definitely not a problem - I've been eating non-stop. We have hourly snack breaks HAHAHAHA zomg.
Had dinner yesterday at Ximending, at a really cute risotto bistro/cafe called Ah Mao Risotto, AND AH MAO IS THE NAME OF THEIR LIVE MASCOT, A DAMN GOOD LOOKING GOLDEN RETRIEVER!! :) And I realized that dogs are really common here! They're allowed in shops and most people just carry them in their arms.
Anyway today we tried Din Tai Fung at SOGO for lunch, and HMMM, not much diff for food quality, but the service was WHOA IMPRESSIVE! Then afternoon-dinner at Shih Lin. Haha it was like how I envisioned it to be -EXCEPT THE POTENCY OF SMELLY TOFU. Omg I've had enough of it omg I can't stand another whiff 0.0
Anyway heading for 101 tomorrow and probably will hang around that area for the day.
Anyway I'm impressively surprised that there's wifi in this laupok hotel, so I can still come online every night. I'm currently logged onto a network called "6F" HAHAHA WTH. One good thing about the laupok-ness is that the network is completely unsecured.
Alright good night!
