Day Out @ Chek Jawa!
9:42 p.m. @ Monday, Feb. 16, 2009

Oh yes i just saw Gwen's entry and got reminded of our ClubMed thing. HAHAHAHAHA on Saturday when we were at Suntec for the NTU talk, coincidentally CTC and Dynasty travel were having some mini-travel fair thingy (mini because, it was only on the ground floor, not as big-scale as those convention halls kind.) and on impulse, we queued and went to ask about traveling to go ClubMed in Bintan/Bali/Phuket/Cherating Beach.

THE GUY WHO WAS AT THE COUNTER WAS DAMN FUNNY. HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA he's totally the essence of a Good Salesperson. After talking to him, i am very inclined to go back to him (he gave us his namecard at the end of it, his name is JERRY BROWN and i think he gets it all the time, but we still did the "EHH MR BROWN!!" joke-thing to him) if we really want to book the tour. He was this uncle-age Malay/Mixed-looking jolly fellow, and while he was promoting to us, he also acknowledge that the brochure is misleading, coz we were initially attracted by the $448 price, but turned out a realistic quote would be $600-800, depending on location.

Then he will also drop in things like Him: Btw you all should go in pairs leh, got twin-sharing, you all 3 people, not very worth.
Him: BRING ME LAH!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
Then Sat was also Valentine's, so after talking for a while he started giving us this KYOTO-JAPAN! pink heart-shaped sticker, and pasted it on the back of our hands. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

When we left without booking the tour (i think he probably expected that, hurhur) he was still all smiles and i gave him a Lakerol sweet because he was saying he has been talking the whole day.

What a cute and endearing man. :):):)

TODAY, I MET CHEN LAO SHI AT JE MRT!! HAHAHAHAHA what a coincidence. As usual i was on my way to work via MRT (once again, I SO HATE THE MORNING MRT RUSH URGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!) and in typical drama fashion, really, sometimes i wonder if i've been watching too much that i see my life like that too, so imagine this:

I was entering the carriage, being one of the last amongst the crowd (because i hate to be right in front and being pushed) so the exit-ing and enter-ing crowds were clearing already, and i saw this black figure walking down the platform towards the escalator, in my direction. Haha she was listening to her MP3, so she only heard me on my 2nd "CHEN LAO SHI!!!"

And btw, i dont know if it's the same for every station, but every morning during that peak hour, there will be several SMRT officers patrolling the platform and controlling the crowds. So my shouting at Chen Laoshi also attracted the attention of 2 of them, hurhur. Paiseh ah!

She hurried over and we exchanged hellos before the door closed on me, and i SMSed her after that but she never reply. :(

OK UBIN. Omg i am the Queen of Digression, man.

Reached CCK MRT late, at 7.10am when the stipulated meeting time was at 7am. Saw Shuyin (NTU alumni, currently an accountant i think) and Yuanting (that very zai currently in NUS doing Masters in Bio NY-HC senior) there, BUT THE ORGANIZERS ie PONG AND CINDY WERE LATE?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA wah lau eh.

Shanti and i were sabo-ed to be the BUS ICs, which meant we were supposed to rah-rah the people to make them excited and high. I've come to realize and acknowledge that i have zero talent for this. BUT SHANTI WAS GOOD. :D:D:D !!! A sneak peek for her Duck Tour debut, hurhur. Ok honestly the bus trip there was pretty much a starting acclimatization/realizing-the-expected-responsibility orientation, and i think i only got into the mood of things when we got our groups.

Photo credits to Shuyin + Pong! Kk i shall write less and post more photos. :) Btw i was lazy to do a Click for larger image, so er pls right-click "Copy image location" and open in another browser for larger pic, thank you.

My 4 charges. Initially named Wingx Club (how to spell??) then one of them came up to me and tugged at my shirt and said she feels embarrassed by the name and asked me to call them Club only. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

This is the final task of the Amazing Race - to take a group photo at this location. But my group was obviously burned out. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. They are all neighbours actually! Quite nice right, to have neighbours who are close-enough friends. They are all the same age, 7 years old, 3 in Southview Primary (SHOES! YOUR SHI MEI LEH!!) and 1 in ER i cant remember, shit.

From left, Chloe, Tay Mie, Shi Xuan and Sing Yee. All damn funny, all quirky in their own ways, but all damn cute. :) Aww...

Actually it was quite funny that somehow they got damn endeared to me. YES READ IT AGAIN. It was surprising, i never knew i had such affinity for P1s, hurhur.

On the bus back, we were collecting the lanyards back and the participants were told to keep their respective namecards, and Tay Mie actually wanted to keep mine, and when i gave it to her, she drew this stick figure of me under my name, before she kept it. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HOW CUTE WAS THAT?! Shit i regretted not taking a photo of it. But awwwwww i melted. :)

Cindy, Pong and Shuyin. HMM WHERE'S SHANTI AH. We were on the same boat right?! Shit! :(

We were back at Lot 1 at about 1.30+, and Cindy treated us to Pizza Hut for lunch. It was only half a day actually, but wah super duper tired and exhausted. Whoa cant imagine if it's an overseas full-day, prob 24h/4-5days with this kind of intensity. HAHAHAHA! Exciting eh?

I've come to realize that Cindy is a damn cool and admirable person, and she's my new idol. 20 years old, NTU NBS, co-owner of 2 Eco companies, a real in-the-action volunteer at CC + GRC Meet-the-MP sessions + traveling overseas on a regular basis to do real work (SHE WAS IN BANDAR ACEH LAST WEEKEND PLANTING COCOA PLANTS) She went for the weekend, flew back and attended lessons as per normal the next day. HAHAHAHAHAAHA OMG. I shall go join that Cindy Chng Club on Facebook soon.
