First day Admin at MMI. At least, this admin job is better because:
1) I like my seat
2) And the general deco of the place. The office is located in a shophouse at Hindoo Road near Little India there. It's a 2-storey place and there are potted plants on the staircase outside, and early in the morning, i watched Patrick totter around and he came down the stairs watering the plants, in a very Korean-drama way. HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!
3) The office/pantry smells like Ikea. Which is nice. :)
4) I pretty much work at own-time-own-target, can snack and can listen to iPod. Actually i see the rest, THEY ARE DAMN SLACK. Seriously, Alex/Dalong were whining the whole day, while walking around the office. HAHAHAHAHA?! I even sorta worked through my lunch, because i brought a sandwich and didnt go out for lunch with them.
5) I dont have to do the whole first-time-meeting acquaintance-making thing. I know all of them from IEEM, except for 1 dude Alex, whom i got to know today, and he seems nice. But he's a smoker. HAII.

I sit opposite Alex, with a partition that's luckily just nice cannot-see-each-other between our desks. Then Dalong came by to check on my work, and Alex started complaining,
Alex: SIANNN!!!
Dalong: Tell you go and smoke already, you dont want!
Me: *shocked that he said that in front of me, then felt insulted, then felt haii-let-all-smokers-just-die* ... Haii you all should smoke less...
Dalong: See! Even she says we should smoke MORE! [note: he was being intentionally dense. And lame.]
Alex: Wah lau, if every young one that comes is like that ah....

So they didnt go off to smoke immediately, but after moping around for another hour, Alex suddenly stood up and said to me seriously, "Eh, sorry, have to smoke,"

Whoa. I looked up when he stood up, but after hearing that, i didnt know how to react, so i just stared dumbly at him.

Haiii.

"Today is unique!
It has never occurred before and it will never be repeated. At midnight it will end, quietly, suddenly, totally. Forever.
But the hours between now and then are opportunities with eternal possibilities."
